‘Kay-nuhn’ – ‘Subdued,’/ ‘To have dominion over’ 

A recent journey to the promise

Genesis 1

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion…

Historical Context:

‘In 1867, the Province of Canada was joined with two British colonies of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia through Confederation, forming a self-governing entity. 

“Canada” was adopted as the legal name of the new country and the word “Dominion” was conferred as the country’s title.

Journal entry: 

I always ask myself, why are the people outside of the UK kind by default, which systems plague us to the point of stoicism. 

I often called their neighbouring country (America) the dream land – but Canada was the real dream. When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like the Canadians.

The atmosphere was very tranquil, there was no issues in Toronto beyond decisions of what to eat.

Enter the City: Ecclesiastes 10:16-17 – The Mystery of Dominion 

“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.”

Influence is the key to kingdom advancement – we tackle the challenge of influence at its inception. The whereabouts of the area of influence is hidden within the notoriety and popularity of a place. 

Partially known for music, Canada is home to some of the ‘greatest’ secular artists of all time. And so the Princes’ of the land invade the through the air. 

So too the Saints. Their power is worship. It’s their culture.

In a place where systems don’t oppress them and individuals are of good homes, and financially liberated, the only thing that could sway hearts is the arts and entertainment mountain. 

We transitioned to Montreal, it was like driving from London to Paris. Law 101 ensured that what was left of the French heritage would be preserved in the City. This taught us a big lesson, policies enforce agendas. 

It was a chaotic climate, the type of chaos city residents like. The people weren’t as forthcoming, they were more concerned about life and its systems than being friendly citizens. 

One particular resident decided to throw a rock at the glass doors of the casino that robbed him of his victory. 

It reminded me of a smaller New York. 

When I ponder on the hearts of the inhabitants it seems they face the same spirit of stoicism plaguing the UK. 

Even so, there’s nothing bad you can say about Canada as a whole, it is literally like the dream you create yourself….

The problem with dreams is sometimes they are so good they distract you from reality. 

Writers account:

Canada, it is in your history, it’s entrenched in the blood of your nation to be blessed. It is even your spiritual heritage and right. 

Not lacking in spirit, in health, in finances, in character, in relationships, you are truly the manifestation of the seven fold blessings of God. 

However, even the blessing of fruitfulness was for a purpose. Even blessings have an assignment. A man is only blessed so they can multiply blessings out of their abundance and replenish the earth. Replenish those who are not blessed. Go ye into the world! 

Be fruitful so you can multiply. 

Canada is only blessed so it can bless others and take upon the burdens of those who are in need. 

Canada means “settlement”, like Canaan it is truly the land of milk and honey, where the sons and daughters of God can receive their inheritance. 

However, this was never the original promise of God, the excess great reward came after the assurance of His presence in the garden. 

One thing thou lackest…
